Dr Rahman is a luminal gastroenterologist specialising in conditions affecting the lining of the GI tract such as inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcers and coeliac disease. His subspecialty interests include inflammatory bowel disease, clinical nutrition & intestinal failure, and endoscopy. In addition to this, he regularly sees patients suffering with irritable bowel syndrome, bile acid malabsorption and pelvic radiation disease, as well as a whole host of other general bowel symptoms.

As well as Dr Rahman’s clinical and teaching responsibilities, he is committed to furthering the field of gastroenterology through conducting research into diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel diseases), which have lead to many high impact peer-reviewed publications in renowned scientific journals, such as The Lancet, Gut, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Crohn’s & Colitis and Inflammatory bowel disease. This combination of extensive clinical experience, high-quality medical education and ground-breaking research ensure the highest standard of care for patients.
